Food
The food is the least important part of the salon. We have only had a few salons catered and this was the decision of one of the co-hosts or when a friend allowed us to host them in a private room of his restaurant (which we don’t recommend because it is too formal). Just make a run to the grocery store or have something inexpensive delivered. Ask the guests to bring a bottle of wine or something to drink so that you am not bearing the full financial burden for the entire event and it also builds support and collaboration from the beginning. It is also asking them to be good guests by requiring them to bring something to the event. Just leave the food out on a table and ask people to grab something before they sit down and then, if there is extra, move the food and wine over to a table near where you are gathered for the discussion. The key to the food is to not make it the centerpiece of the discussion.
